What was it like when you got picked for Davis Cup in March but you heard that Jamie Murray was out? Obviously it’s got to be some pretty mixed emotions, huh?
It was tough as i think Jamie is a very strong doubles player and i enjoy playing with him but it is 100% the captain’s choice and all the guys who got selected were in the mix and I have to go with who the captain wants. I would be more than happy to play with anyone in Davis Cup but hopefully Jamie and I will get to play again together soon.
Have you ever thought about a “regular” mixed dubs pairing for the slams, in particular any of our Brit girls?
I have played mixed doubles with Anne Keothavong the past two years but we are not a combined high enough ranking to get into all the grand slams together. If I could find a partner, preferably British, that i could play all mixed doubles tournaments with then that would be good.
What kind of string and tension you use on your racket?
I use Luxillon Original string in the mains (vertical) and natural gut in the cross (horizontal) of my racket. I string the luxillon at 62lbs and 64lbs for the gut.
How many hours a day do you spend training both off court and on court?
In a normal training week I will hit for 4-5 hours per day with 1-2 hours in the gym or on the track. Near a tournament this reduces depending how many days before the event it is. During the tournament the work and preparation should be done so its just a matter of feeling good with my game.
Who is the most good-looking player from both the ATP and the WTA Tours, in your opinion?
I think there are many good looking tennis players out there! In my opinion Arnaud Clement and Simone Bolelli are good looking guys and on the WTA, Maria Kirilenko and Ana Ivanovic are both very attractive
Hi Rosco! I was just wondering, do like to listen to music before match? If so, who’s on you playlist?
I do like to listen to music before I play – Kanye West, Beyonce and The Killers are my usual favourites. I don’t need a really high tempo song to get me fired up for a match, so it’s just to try get me into match mode.
Do you think Andy Murray is sexy?
Interesting question…I’d say he’s a good looking guy who’s in good shape but not sure I’m the best person to answer if he’s sexy or not!
Do you ever get annoyed when people ask you for your autograph when you have just been beaten?
A lot of the time it will depend on the circumstances of the match – I think the fans should ask for the autograph of a player whenever they want to but just be prepared that sometimes it’s not the best time.
What do you hope to reach in your tennis career
I believe in everything that one chooses to do you have to aim for the top to get to the top. I believe and always will believe that I can be No.1 in the world and win Grand Slams. I would love to get a gold medal at the Olympics – that would be incredible!
The picture on your home page doing laps with Team Murray has come to my attention. Any tips on how to develop such a sexy body as i wouldnt mind getting me one of those?!
