Hutchins gets sneak peek at Davis Cup opponents in Washington

Ross Hutchins and Stephen Huss face Polish duo Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in the first round of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic.

The line-up for the Washington event is the most competitive field since Wimbledon, including the world No.1 team the Bryan brothers and world No.2 pair Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic in separate halves of a star-studded draw.

Hutchins and Huss have played the Poles once already this season, losing 6-4 3-6 6-3 in the second round of the Australian Open.

But for the British No.1, the match will serve as an opportunity to scout Great Britain’s potential Davis Cup doubles opponents.

Team GB face Poland in Liverpool in September shortly after the US Open in a bid to secure their spot in Euro-Africa Zone Group 1.

Matkowski and Fyrstenberg, ranked No.12 and No.13 in the world, lifted their ninth title together in Eastbourne earlier this year.
