Melo and Sa first up at Pilot Pen Tennis…

Ross Hutchins and Stephen Huss face defending champions Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa in the first round of the Pilot Pen Tennis event in New Haven this week.

The Anglo-Aussie duo, playing their final warm-up event ahead of the US Open – which starts next week – have beaten the Brazilian pair already during this US Open Series.

Their 6-1 6-4 victory in the first round of the Legg Mason Classic marked a high point in what has proven to be a tough couple of months for the British No.1 and his Australian partner.

But they will be buoyed by the manner of the victory in Washington, a dominant display in the first set followed by a tight affair in the second.

The Pilot Pen Tennis event, played at Yale University, Conneticut, is the final stop on the US Open Series tour. Polish pair Marcin Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg are top seeds at this year’s event.

Ask Rosco

Why do you wear a bandana when your on court? is it true that its an attempt to look more like ‘Wolf’ from Gladiators?

From: Ali

No thats not true as Wolf wasn’t my favourite gladiator!! I actually wear it to keep the sweat out of my eyes and off my face.
