British duo seen off in Challenger…

Ross Hutchins and Horia Tecau are through to the last eight of the Ritro Slovak Open after posting a 6-4 6-4 win over Jamie Murray and Jonathan Marray.

The British and Romanian doubles No.1s came through a nervy contest featuring a string of death deuces, with both pairs bringing up break points early in the match.

But while Hutchins and Tecau saw their chances slip by, Murray and Marray claimed theirs to take a 2-0 lead.

With the British duo stretching their lead to 4-1, things looked bleak for Hutchins and Tecau. But two consecutive breaks in a five-game run saw them storm back to take the set, settled once more on a one-point death deuce.

An early break for the Anglo-Romanian duo early in the second set took them into a 2-1 lead from which they never looked back, though both teams had chances to break during the middle of the set.

In the end, Hutchins and Tecau, the No.2 seeds in Bratislava, served out the victory to set up a quarter-final clash with Rameez Junaid and Alessandro Motti.
