No.2 seeds through to Bratislava semis…

Ross Hutchins and Horia Tecau advanced to the semi-finals of the Rotro Slovak Open after fighting back from a set down against Rameez Junaid and Alessandro Motti.

The Anglo-Romanian duo, the No.2 seeds in Bratislava, posted a 6-7(3) 6-2 10-8 victory over the Aussie-Italian pair.

After trading breaks early in the first set, Hutchins and Tecau were unlucky to find themselves behind but stormed through the second to take the match into a decisive match tie-break.

Hutchins has suffered wretched luck with match tie-breaks all season but improved his win-loss record to 8-16 after the duo sealed victory at the fourth time of asking.

The victory sets up a semi-final clash with No.3 seeds Leos Friedl and David Skoch, who also came through a match tie-break, beating Andrey Golubev and Denis Istomin 3-6 6-3 10-4.
