Hutchins and Kerr plan 2010 assault
Rosco and Jordan set to play next 12 months together…
Ross Hutchins has announced that he and Australian world No.30 Jordan Kerr will play the 2010 ATP season together as both bid to seal an ATP World Tour Finals berth next year.
The British doubles No.1, back in the UK for Christmas after training with Team Murray in Miami for the past few weeks, said he was “really looking forward” to playing with the 30-year-old doubles specialist for the next twelve months.
“Our games compliment each other,” said Hutchins, 24. “I’ve got on well with guys in other partnerships, but this is definitely something different.”
The duo played together in Miami, Metz, Tokyo and Valencia, reaching the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open Masters 1000 and the final of the Ratuken Open, two standout highlights from a tough season for Hutchins.
But with a solid partnership in place, the Wimbledon native is convinced the Anglo-Aussie pairing could challenge for a top-eight finish and a spot at the season finale at the O2 next November.
“Often if you stick together you’re in the mix at the end of the year to get that World Tour Finals spot, so hopefully in 2010 that will be us.”
