Rosco and Jordan make Serbia semis
Belgrade wildcards dispatched in straight sets…
Ross Hutchins and Jordan Kerr are through to the semi-finals of the Serbia Open after easing past David Savic and Dennis Zivkovic 6-3 6-3.
The Anglo-Aussie duo were took control of the contest in the second set after coming out on top in an opening set featuring five breaks of serve.
After taking three of those breaks, Hutchins and Kerr didn’t face another break point in the match, converting two of the seven offered up by the Serb-American wildcards to seal the win in a little over an hour.
The No.2 seeds will face Tomasz Bednarek and Mateusz Kowalczyk in the final four after the Polish pair received a walkover from Horacio Zeballos and Leonardo Mayer in their quarter-final.
“It was good to win comfortably – wildcard teams are always tough matches as you don’t know what they are like,” said Hutchins, who believes the extra time on court he and Kerr have may count in their favour in the semi-finals.
“I think it is an advantage [to have played when their opponents haven’t] as we feel sharp and ready to play a good match and hopefully make the finals.
The semi-final will be played during the Saturday night session.
